06 OCT: DAY CHARTER FROM DENIA

On a warm, but grey Monday morning, we met up at Bar Malavita in Denia marina for the first CBYA day charter after the summer break.

After meeting our skipper for the day, Paul, we boarded S/V Sol y Luna, a Jeanneau 44.9. We cast off and headed for Javea bay to moor at Cala Sardinera and eat our packed lunches. The forecast predicted some wind, and sun expected at 2pm. This was largely accurate accompanied by a big swell, resulting in quite choppy motion depending on our tack. Unfortunately this led to three of the crew experiencing seasickness and they opted to be put ashore at Javea port before setting back. The remaining four crew enjoyed the journey back to Denia with our very capable and friendly Spanish skipper in beautiful sunshine rounded off with a sociable pint at the marina.
