Final day of the trip for Sapphire as crew need to get back to return to UK.

After yesterday's rain, it was good to see the sun and blue skies. The two remaining yachts parted company finally, with Bifrost making for Formentera and Sapphire making for Calpe.

Sappire slipped her mooring at 07:30 and motored towards Espalmador and then on to Calpe. The wind came from the NW and Sapphire was able to sail at 7kts all day. However as night drew in, the wind backed to the SW and increased to about 27kts. Sapphire sailed into Calpe with 2 reefs at 21:30, against very heavy seas, but got onto her mooring in a one chance manoeuvre - going backwards at 3kts with the engine in gear motoring forward! The crew of Sapphire then made a quick dash ashore to take dinner at Dracula's Restaurant.

Guess that's the end of the trip. It was a lovely relaxing break with some proper sailing. Anyone up for trip to Menorca next year?
