07 APR: 5-CLUBS RACE 4 REPORT CAMPOMANES

A number of CBYA members raced (or at least attempted to) in the 5-Clubs event organised by Marina de Greenwich, Campomanes. The members who were spotted at the event included Barry McCrae, Karen Gardner and Allen Bradley, who were all racing on other yachts. The only all-CBYA boat entered was John Mackneys yacht Sapphire. On board were John Mackney, Hugh Epsom, Ben Woodcock, Steve Day, Marc Ruhe and Micky Cuthbert.

There was almost zero wind, but small zephyrs appeared here and there and the committee boat and launch with the course buoys chased back and forth trying to find a breeze in which to start the race, but unfortunately, after 2 hours, the racing was abandoned.

Lets hope for better conditions in the next race Calpe on the 11th May.
